Jen went to the May Fair Hotel for a corporate event. This included a complimentary tour of the 'signature' suites - very nice indeed. Here's what the Crystal room looks like, which is where the main event was on:

They had a choc fountain and choc pizzas on display too!

Feels OK to go back to work the next day thankfully.

Jen had a scheduled day off work. Edith and William (Nick) as well as Robert and Geneveive (Dan and Elizabeth) all stayed overnight. Full house! Party atmosphere.

Sat 11 Oct 2008
Bright and early we all piled into the car and headed down to the Viceroy event about 1.5 hours from home. Clancy won the tournament fighting for Ursula (Deb) our fine friends from Cambridge. Hurrah, and well done Vitus and Guiliette for their 6 month term now complete.
Edith got her Award of Arms - very well deserved!! Edith also entered into AND won her first arts&sciences competition with this embroidered patch for Steve's new fighting akerton (padded jacket). Mind you, this photo is after Jen's turned the edges under.

Kev moved his stuff out of our lounge room and into Jenni's place.
Stephen and Mathilde (friends visiting from Oz) arrived in the evening, for a week's stay.

Sat 18 Oct 2008
Jen finally orders a washer-dryer machine. Should arrive mid November - hurrah!
In the morning Mathilde runs off to a convention (that she's presenting at), Steve and Stephen stay home and Jen met up with half the Shire for a fabric shopping adventure along the high street of Walthamstow, finishing with a pilgrimage to the Weavers shop.

Above: we met up at the local Macca's.
Below: the weavers shop has every colour and fibre you could imagine!
